*It doesn't get any better than this!* SEABEES ASSISTING NAS LEMOORE'S STABLES!
|
by 2nd Lt John Cooper, 633d Air Base Wing Public Affairs FROM JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS "A major reason for this is that owning and taking care of horses is an intimate passion for some individuals, and
these stables allow them to engage that passion even
while in military capacity." And from Christy Rew -- spouse of ACC Vice Commander from Langley "It's made a tremendous difference in the morale of the people
here." CLICK HERE FOR THE ARTICLE

Updates from Fort Leavenworth's Stable: "The Fort Leavenworth Stables is an FMWR activity that offers year
round boarding. The stables are one of the last historic buildings on post still being used for their original purpose. When
you take one step on the original brick aisle way, it is as if you have taken a step back in time..."

Valerie -- I'm currently riding in the Baumholder, Germany area on a horse I lease. I have found a really nice yet small tack
shop. I frequent it to the point that when my husband and I walk in we are known as the ones that speak English. I thought
I'd pass the website on to you. I know I love the shop and it took a while for me to find it. I hope this will help someone
else as well. I let Google translate the page for me. Thank you
so much for your website it has been a great help. Keri 7/2/2010

Valerie -- Today was a big adventure! After just a week and a half in Korea we took a taxi ride to the country side
and Kate had her first Korean horse lesson. We visited the Semadae Horseback Riding Club. We learned about the stables from your wonderful website! The horse was new to the mainland, she was from Jeju Island off
the south coast of Korea. The breed is Cheju Pony. Kate had a wonderful time! The trainer was Korean but spoke English.
They are a very serious dressage stable with members who compete at high levels including the Asian Games. I
was very happy with the facility and will be back. Thank you for the recommendation! 7/14/2010

GREAT THINGS are going on at NAS Lemoore's Stables
I 'borrowed' these photos from their website -- simply
because they are AWESOME!! An incredible amount of teamwork was shown this weekend!Every club member
came out to help, along with many volunteers including Fire Chief Gary and NAS Lemoore CO Captain Knapp. We got every
post in the ground, it took all weekend, working through the rain, late into the night. At one
point we even had to bring in the big guns - Billy with the tractor! Thank you everyone, and thank you to Amanda
Carelli and Kirsten LeBlanc for bringing us lunch, so thoughtful! Other thank yous go out to the CMBU 303 Seabees for constructing our asphalt roads and the
Garcia Family for getting a work party together to start construction
on our new arena! * Lexington Park Equestrian Center *

Georgia on my mind...(Nov 2008) MY GOAL: I wanted to spend Thanksgiving touring three Military Stables
in Georgia.
MY PROBLEM: Horses aren't my husbands favorite thing. How could I possibly convince him that this was a great idea and that he wanted to accompany me? CLICK HERE to read about our visit to Robins AFB, Fort Benning, and Fort Stewart!! I've included a link from a previous
trip to Fort Gordon's Stables, also in Georgia!

Tally Ho...
Military
Members are "on the Hunt" at Fort Leavenworth's Military Stables in KS and near Shaw AFB, Fort Jackson, and McEntire ANG in SC!
Learn more about their Programs for Military Families! "Tally Ho"
is shouted when a rider sees the fox! In addition to its use in foxhunting, the expression "Tally Ho" was commonly used during WWII
by English-speaking fighter pilots to say that an enemy aircraft had been sighted! These days, pilots have shortened it and simply say "Tally".

Horsey Hat-trick at Fort Gordon!
My plan was simple... We'd cross the state
line into Georgia and pop-in to the Military Stables located on Fort Gordon Army Post. Then we'd track back into
South Carolina and check out the Powderhouse Polo Fields in Aiken for the Ford Trucks Equestrian Balloon Festival. Admission to the event was free with a donation to benefit the Service Men and Women from Fort Gordon! But, when we pulled onto the post, bold signs drew our attention to the fact that we would be privy to a third equine event!
